Tonight’s host is Giles MacDonogh, the author of fourteen books on subjects as diverse as German history, French gastronomy and wine. He has written for major newspapers in Britain and Europe such as the Financial Times, the Guardian, the Times and FT Deutschland. In addition he has made many appearances on radio and television, particularly on the BBC and Sky in Britain and contributes to magazines all over the world. For several years he was a restaurant inspector for The Good Food Guide in the UK and is Chairman of the Judges for Germany and Austria for the Decanter World Wine Awards and his Wine and Food Blog appears on Connoisseur Magazine.
