The Karuizawa 45 year releases are a pinnacle of Karuizawa cask selection. Both selected from whisky distilled in 1967, these bottles represent a ‘Golden Era’ in Karuizawa’s history and they are simply a two-bottle set.

The Flower & Bird series from Karuizawa is one of the smallest curations of the closed distillery and up for grabs at this month’s auction.

The Samurai series from Karuizawa is a highlight of Japan’s storied history as told through powerful single Sherry casks which the famed distillery has come to be known for.

Lot 673 – 3 bottles of Karuizawa Honor Sumo Triple Set

HK$200,000 (US$25,796) – HK$300,000 (US$38,694)

The Karuizawa Honor Sumo Triple Set features label art running across all three labels and makes a tapestry which ties together the three unique cask bottling all distilled one year after another. The works are based on antique painting by Ukiyo-e artist Hachisuka Kuniaki and shows the story of the ritual that is performed before a sumo contest.
