Sotheby’s New York Presents ‘Wine Atlas | Quintessential Burgundy, Bordeaux, Italy & Napa

-Explore a world-class selection in our upcoming Sotheby’s New York sale, Wine Atlas | Quintessential Burgundy, Bordeaux, Italy & Napa, is open for bidding
“Collectors should take note of the Wine Atlas | Quintessential Burgundy, Bordeaux, Italy & Napa sale at Sotheby’s New York, which is currently open for bidding through May 8.”  at Sotheby’s New York, Wine Atlas | Quintessential Burgundy, Bordeaux, Italy & Napa,
Coinciding with Sotheby’s Modern & Contemporary auctions in New York, this sale showcases an exceptional single-owner cellar assembled over many years by a deeply passionate and discerning collector. Built with a clear focus on provenance, vintage quality, and producer pedigree, the collection reflects both a sophisticated approach to collecting and a genuine love of sharing great bottles.
Six bottles of red wine labeled La Tâche arranged around a wooden wine box on a gray background, front bottle centered.
At its core are outstanding selections from Burgundy and Bordeaux. Burgundy is particularly strong, led by Grand Cru benchmarks from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Rousseau, and Dujac, alongside highly sought-after modern producers such as Arnoux-Lachaux and Cecile Tremblay. These are wines that are increasingly difficult to source and represent a rare opportunity to acquire top-tier bottles with excellent provenance.

Bordeaux is equally compelling, with First Growths and leading Left and Right Bank estates well represented across a range of top vintages and formats. The offering spans wines entering their prime drinking window as well as those with significant aging potential—ideal for both near-term enjoyment and long-term cellaring.
Beyond France, the collection expands globally, featuring icons such as Jean-Louis Chave, Bruno Giacosa, Vega Sicilia, Penfolds, and Napa Valley’s historic Eisele Vineyard. Together, they underscore the breadth and ambition of the cellar.
Following the recent record‑breaking Immortal Vintages sale, which set ten new world records, it’s worth noting that this collection leans towards top vintages of the last two decades, complemented by a strong selection of more modern and approachable wines than we’ve  recently offered. With estimates ranging from $250 to $35,000, the sale offers opportunities at multiple entry points—whether you’re looking to deepen an existing cellar or begin building a trophy-level collection.
