Zachys HK completes the first-half of 2019 with stellar results from the prestigious single-owner offering The Classic Collection (Lots 1-423) and Fine & Rare Wines and Spirits featuring The Sakura Collection Part III & The Celestial Cellar (Lots 424-1582). Zachys received strong regional and international absentee bids, whilst telephone and internet bidding remained active on both days.

Seasoned bidders continue to vie for rare Burgundy wines, pre-2009 First Growth Bordeaux wines and other gems from returning single owner collections. Zachys’ maintains its dominance and expertise in bringing high hammers for single owner collections.
A WORLD RECORD was set for a very rare methuselah of DRC La Tâche 1985 realizing HK$741,000 (US$95,613) as well as a rare double magnum of DRC Montrachet 1994 realizing HK$469,300 (US$60,555) and an even more rare original carton of Jacky Truchot Clos de la Roche 1996 realizing HK$197,600 (US$35,058).

Burgundy wines from DRC, Henri Jayer, Domaine Leroy, d’Auvenay and Jacky Truchot continues to soar to new heights whilst blue-chip Bordeaux Petrus 2000 (750ML) takes the top spot. With one auction to go in the “spring season,” Zachys has now sold over US$55,000,000 in wine, up over 150% from 2018!
This includes 6 single-owner auctions, not including this week’s White Tie Collection in New York.
