Brown Brothers has been named a 5-star winery in the 2022 Halliday Wine Companion

Alongside some of Australia’s best producers, Brown Brothers has been named a 5-star winery in the 2022 Halliday Wine Companion for the tenth year in a row at this year’s awards and 11 wines achieved a rating of 90 or above:

‘An outstanding winery with a long track record of excellence, having held a 5-star rating continuously for 10 years – truly the best of the best.”

Among this year’s top performers are the heroes of their Patricia range, scoring 95 points and above:

Patricia Sparkling Brut 2014, 96 points
“78/22% Pinot Noir/Chardonnay, on lees for 6 years. Fruit from the Whitlands Plateau – one of the highest vineyards in Australia – possessing a rare vitality for a 6-year-old sparkling. Patricia’s signature purity of fruit expression and exhilarating acidity are present, with a persistent, fine bubble. Lemon zest, straw, apple custard, and biscuit. Youthful exuberance with grapefruit, citrus, almond meal and a clean creaminess.”  – Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion 2022

Patricia Chardonnay 2019, 95 points
“67/33% Hazards/Kayena vineyards. Matured in French oak barrels (29% new). The word refined comes to mind with Patricia. Everything is in its place; the result – one presumes – of diligent, thoughtful winemaking. Superfine flavours built around nectarine, citrus, patisserie, biscuit and a surge of tangy acidity. Energy to burn. Should age a treat.”  – Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion 2022
