Masterclass – 1.30pm
We will have wines on tasting from wineries of all sizes, showcasing their new releases and the 2019 vintage. This year has been documented as a hot vintage, with very little rain, but none the less has produced some fantastic wines, don’t miss our masterclass at 1:30pm which gives an update from our winemakers point of view. Innovation is very topical in Chile and you will see some interesting examples of what wineries are doing adding to the excitement which is alive in Chile today.
Wine Bar Wars
Wines of Chile launched Wine Bar War in New York, USA in 2014. It is a competition that pits teams of sommeliers against each other to literally ‘build a wine bar’ and open for business to an audience that will judge them on the concept and visual appearance, as well as their wine selection and service they offer.
Following on from the success of Wine Bar Wars 2015 and 2016, teams of sommeliers will do battle in London to be named 2019 UK Champions and to win a trip to Chile in January 2020. Each bar will be up and running for the opening of our trade tasting. Over the course of the tasting guests will be able to visit each bar, sample the range of wines and engage with the teams to see why they have selected the wines and how they would work on a wine list. Guests will be then to vote on their favourite Wine Bar.
