Lesley Roos-Gray-Ceramicist and Designer

As a Ceramicist, Artist and Designer/Painter, it is important for Lesley to create beauty, and she uses the beauty of nature and its design in her work.

She has trained in Graphic Art and Design at Kwantlen College in Vancouver Canada. Jewellery Design with the Gemmologicall Society of America, and Interior Design with a Sydney Australia School.

She sais “I started learning Sculpture in 1999 with Midge Johannssen at the Gold Coast in Australia and became ‘hooked ‘ on making in a three dimensional form what I had previously painted and had to use light and shade, to indicate the 3rd dimension.

Although Lesley can use the potters wheel she prefers to handbuild her work.

“I want my work to be jewell like and beautiful to look at and still be able to use it to bring that beauty into every day living, and so I design and hand build original and unusual Earthenware Clay Urns and Dinnerware,”
